Fire & Ice is one of the most loved resurfacing facials in the world, often called the red-carpet facial for the instant glow it delivers. At Āatma we use the professional iS Clinical Fire & Ice protocol, a two-phase treatment that resurfaces and then revives the skin in around half an hour.

The Fire phase uses an intensive resurfacing masque that gently warms the skin to exfoliate, decongest, and refine texture. The Ice phase follows with a rejuvenating masque that cools, soothes, and floods the skin with hydration and antioxidants. The result is brighter, smoother, visibly refreshed skin straight away, with no downtime. It is ideal before an event or as a regular brightening treatment. How Fire & Ice works

Fire to Resurface, Ice to Revive

The treatment works in two phases. The Fire is an intensive resurfacing masque whose active ingredients create a gentle warming sensation as they exfoliate the skin, lifting away dull surface cells, decongesting pores, and refining texture. This is the part that does the resurfacing work and gives the skin its renewed clarity.

The Ice follows: a rejuvenating masque that cools and calms the skin, settling the warmth and delivering a surge of hydration and antioxidants. Together the two phases resurface and then replenish, which is why the skin looks instantly brighter and smoother yet feels comfortable and refreshed, not raw.

Why is it called Fire & Ice, and what does it feel like?

The name comes from its two phases. The Fire masque creates a warm, tingling sensation as it resurfaces the skin, which some people feel more than others. The Ice masque then cools and soothes, so any warmth quickly gives way to a calm, refreshed feeling.

How long does the treatment take?

Around 30 minutes, which is part of its appeal. It delivers a noticeable glow in the kind of time that fits into a busy day, which is why it is such a popular pre-event treatment.

Is there any downtime, and will I be red afterwards?

There is no real downtime. Some people have mild, brief redness or warmth after the Fire phase, but the cooling phase is designed to calm this, and most people leave glowing and able to apply make-up straight away.

How often should I have it?

It works beautifully as a one-off glow before an occasion, or around once a month as a regular brightening treatment. Dr Shaan will suggest what suits your skin and goals.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

It is an active resurfacing facial, so very reactive skin is assessed carefully first and the gentler HydraFacial may be recommended instead. For most skin types the strength can be tailored so it is both effective and comfortable.

How is it different from a HydraFacial?

They do different things. Fire & Ice is a fast, intensive resurfacing facial focused on brightening and smoothing. A HydraFacial uses a device to deep-cleanse, extract, and hydrate, so it is the better choice for congestion and hydration. If you want both in one session, our signature HydraFlame combines a Fire & Ice with a Platinum HydraFacial.
