Thinning hair and increased shedding are some of the most common and frustrating concerns we see, and they often begin long before they become obvious. This treatment combines two approaches that work well together: microneedling, which stimulates the scalp and creates fine channels for delivery, and an advanced exosome, peptide, and growth-support complex applied directly to the scalp.

Delivered as a course, the aim is to improve the condition of the scalp, support the hair follicles through their natural growth cycle, and create better conditions for stronger, denser-looking hair. It is best suited to early and moderate thinning rather than long-established hair loss. Hair loss has many causes, so treatment starts with assessment. Dr Shaan reviews the pattern and likely drivers of your thinning before recommending a plan, because the right approach for early shedding is not the same as for more established loss.

The treatment itself uses microneedling to gently stimulate the scalp and deliver the Nouveau Visage NEWDERM HAIR complex of plant exosomes, peptides, and supporting actives to where the follicles sit. Delivered as a course of four sessions two weeks apart, with optional home care between visits, the aim is a steady, natural improvement in scalp health and the look of density over the months that follow.

How the treatment works

Stimulate the Scalp, Support the Follicle

Microneedling uses a fine pen to create controlled microchannels in the scalp. This does two things at once: it prompts the skin's own repair and renewal response, and it allows the treatment complex to reach the level of the scalp where the hair follicles sit, rather than simply resting on the surface.

The complex itself brings together plant-derived exosomes, biomimetic peptides, and supporting actives chosen to improve microcirculation, calm inflammation, and nourish the follicles through their natural growth cycle. Across a course of treatments, the aim is to reduce shedding and support a fuller, healthier-looking head of hair, with results building gradually rather than overnight.

Dr Shaan founded Āatma after years of medical training at the University of Southampton and clinical experience across hospitals in the UK and Australia. That foundation shapes how he practises aesthetic medicine: methodical, anatomically led, and conservative.

Does the treatment hurt?

Most people find it very tolerable. The microneedling pen works at a fine depth and the scalp is only mildly sensitive, often described as a light prickling. The scalp may look a little pink for a few hours afterwards, which settles quickly.

How many sessions will I need?

The recommended starting course is four sessions spaced two weeks apart. After the course, results are maintained with a top-up session roughly every three to four months. Dr Shaan will tailor this to your scalp and how you respond.

When will I see results?

Hair grows in cycles, so improvement is gradual rather than immediate. Many people notice reduced shedding first, with changes in density and condition building over three to six months as the follicles move through their growth cycle. Consistency through the full course matters.

Is there any downtime or aftercare?

There is no real downtime, but the scalp needs gentle care for a couple of days. Avoid washing your hair, sweating heavily, swimming, saunas, and direct sun for 24 to 48 hours, then use a gentle shampoo. A supportive home serum can be used between sessions to extend results, and Dr Shaan will give you full aftercare guidance.

Who is it suitable for?

It is best suited to early and moderate thinning, reduced density, and increased shedding, in both men and women. It is not designed for areas of long-established baldness where the follicles are no longer active. Because hair loss can occasionally signal an underlying issue, an assessment comes first.

How is this different from PRP?

Both aim to support the scalp and follicles, but they use different materials. This treatment delivers a standardised complex of plant exosomes, peptides, and supporting actives via microneedling, whereas PRP uses components prepared from your own blood. Dr Shaan will talk through which approach suits your situation at consultation.
