Anti-Wrinkle Injections
Anti-wrinkle injections can be used to eliminate the appearance of lines and wrinkles on various parts of the face.
This treatment is made up of a formula containing Botulinum Toxin Type A, which is effective on reducing the type of wrinkles that are caused by the repeated movements of the facial muscles. These facial movements cause grooves under the skin, which are visible when the face is moving.
Over time the grooves can become a noticeable and permanent feature for a look that can give a perception of age. The Botulinum Toxin in the anti-wrinkle injections works to temporarily pause the contractions of the muscles which in turn, stops the formation of the grooves under the skin. Therefore, the appearance of a wrinkle is erased.

Are Anti-Wrinkle Injections Painful?

Are There Any Side Effects Or Risks?
It is possible that redness and less commonly, bruising will affect the treatment site, immediately following the procedure. These minor side effects will often have subsided within 24 hours and you should not feel unable to continue with your usual activities – Dr. Shaan will be able to advise on anything that may need to be avoided. In less common circumstances a person can experience eyelid droop, temporary numbness or infection, which will all be explained to you during your pre-treatment consultation.
What Downtime Can I Expect?
It is usual for most patients that they are able to continue with their day as normal, when they leave the clinic. As everyone’s level of tolerance differs, in terms of pain and discomfort, it is down to the individual how much rest they feel they will need. Anti-wrinkle injections are a non-surgical, non-invasive procedure that is considered to have a very fast recovery time.
