The chin plays a bigger role in how balanced a face looks than most people realise. A weak, small, or recessed chin can throw the whole profile out of proportion, soften the jawline, and even make the nose look more prominent by comparison. Chin filler uses a structural hyaluronic acid filler to add projection and definition where it is needed, bringing the lower face back into balance.

We use Teosyal, a premium dermal filler chosen for the structure this kind of work requires. Placed conservatively, it can strengthen and lengthen a recessed chin, sharpen the transition from jaw to chin, and improve the harmony between the chin, lips, and nose. The Approach

Chin work is really profile work. Dr Shaan assesses your face from the side as well as the front, looking at how the chin sits in relation to your lips and nose, then places measured amounts of Teosyal to add the projection and definition your profile needs, without overdoing it.

A needle or cannula is used depending on the result required, the approach is conservative, and because the filler is hyaluronic acid it is reversible, so the result can be refined or dissolved if ever needed.

How chin filler works

Strengthen the Chin, Balance the Face

A weak or recessed chin can unbalance the whole face: the lower face looks less defined, the jawline and neckline lose their crispness, and the nose can appear larger by comparison. Placing a structural hyaluronic acid filler at the chin adds projection and definition exactly where it is lacking, strengthening or lengthening the chin to restore proportion.

A well-balanced chin improves the harmony between the chin, lips, and nose, and sharpens the transition from the jaw to the chin, which is why it pairs so well with jawline treatment for a fully defined lower face. What does chin filler do?

It adds projection and definition to a weak, small, or recessed chin using dermal filler, strengthening the chin, balancing the profile, and improving the harmony between the chin, lips, and nose. The aim is a more balanced lower face that still looks natural.

Can it help a double chin?

It depends on the cause. If your chin looks weak and that makes the area beneath it less defined, projecting the chin can improve the jaw and neckline. If a double chin is caused by fat or loose skin rather than a recessed chin, filler will not address it, and a different treatment is needed. Dr Shaan will identify the cause at consultation.

How is it different from jawline or cheek filler?

They treat different areas for different goals. Chin filler adds projection to balance the profile, jawline filler defines the line of the jaw, and cheek filler contours or restores volume in the mid-face. They are often combined for overall balance, and Dr Shaan will advise which areas would give you the result you want.

How long does it last?

Results typically last around twelve to eighteen months. The chin moves relatively little, so filler here tends to last well, and a top-up maintains the result when it begins to soften.

Is it safe and reversible?

Yes. As a hyaluronic acid filler placed by a GMC-registered doctor, it is safe in expert hands and reversible, it can be dissolved with an enzyme if you want an adjustment or are unhappy.
